FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions: Study & Settle Abroad

Choosing the correct country and study program is critical in determining your future career. Academic history, work experience, program cost, course duration, program requirements, curriculum, facilities at the institution, and economic and political stability of the country are significant factors that must be considered and researched thoroughly.

The cost of studying abroad varies according to country, field of study and program duration. There are multiple options to finance your studies, such as scholarships, bursaries, sponsorships, loans, part-time work, grants, etc.

The regulations to work part-time or do internships while studying depend on the country and program-specific policies. For instance, students with a valid study permit and a Social Insurance Number (SIN) in Canada can work while pursuing their studies.

The stay-back options and post-study work visas enable students to find jobs and gain relevant work experience once they complete their studies. Fields such as healthcare, engineering, and technology have high job prospects. The employment options often depend on the country, qualification, program of study, etc.

If your application gets rejected, you can re-apply for the program /study permit by providing additional supporting documents. You can also choose another institution where the criteria of the institution align more with your academic requirements.

The documents which you need to submit for the study permit are country-specific. The standard and essential documents are certified copies of academics, work experience, proof of finance, language proficiency test results, Letter of Acceptance, Statement of Purpose (SOP), etc.

Some of the common entrance and proficiency tests are:
GRE (Graduate Record Examination): GRE tests are required for graduate study programs, specifically engineering, science, and business.
GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test): GMAT tests are required for programs in the field of business, especially MBA.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System): IELTS examines the English language proficiency of international students and is widely accepted for admission requirements.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language):  TOEFL is also an English language proficiency test accepted in the US and universities and colleges in English-speaking countries

Students can opt for co-op or internships in their field of study if it is included in the curriculum of the study program.
